Ex-President of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez appeared in a Tegucigalpa court on Wednesday and is expected to be extradited to the United States on charges of drug trafficking and weapons possession.

“We come in support of the Hernandez family that has been damaged with this case of drug trafficking, we must understand that justice must be respected, the laws of extradition must be respected, but not only he must be investigated, we must also investigate the cases of corruption that the country has experienced not only in nationalist governments of twelve years that they say, also to investigate the acts of corruption that have occurred from 2006 to 2009,” said a demonstrator outside the court as a small group rallied in support of the former President.

Hernandez who was arrested in Tegucigalpa earlier this week denies all wrongdoing.
