Hungary: Lavrov calls Crimean Platform forum 'Russophobic action'

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the Crimean Platform forum held in Ukraine a ‘Russophobic action’ speaking at a press conference following talks with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto in Budapest on Monday.

“Of course, this is an artificially created Russophobic action. They will try to maintain these sentiments artificially to play along with such ultra-radical neo-Nazi phenomena in modern Ukraine. The authorities in Kiev indulge these manifestations, and the leaders of the Western world indulge these manifestations as well,” said Lavrov.

He also commented on the statement of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell that the EU should not allow Russia and China to take control of the situation in Afghanistan and noted that Moscow is ready to discuss the current situation in the region.
