Iran: Armed forces hold large-scale aerial exercise

Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) conducted air drills code-named Sky Guards of Velayat 1400 in the Semnan desert this Tuesday.

Iran’s military was seen testing a variety of missiles and other technology during the drills.

Brigadier General and commander of the Iranian Defence Force, Ghader Rahimzadeh, announced the start of the military exercises, which were composed of drills aimed at enhancing combat, strengthening deterrence, and preparing defence against electronic warfare and cyber-attacks.

The drill follows joint military drills by Azerbaijan and Turkey, which included Israeli drones, leading Iran to raise concerns about Israeli activity near its northern border.
