Large-scale ballistic missile drills were held in the desert in Hormozgan Province on Friday as a warning to prevent Israeli actions against Iran.

The drills were held on the final day of Payambar-e Azam 17 exercise, a codename used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in charge of the drills.

The training consisted mainly of a series of offensive and point-to-point ballistic missile strikes aimed at hitting real targets.

The military exercise comes amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, taking place just a few days after negotiations to revive Iran’s nuclear deal ended without an agreement. Negotiations are set to resume on December 27 in Vienna.
