China’s capital Beijing began testing millions of residents for Covid-19 this week. 

Residential and business districts shut down amid a new outbreak of the highly contagious omicron variant. 

Authorities have implemented extreme measures to prevent further spread of the virus, despite only having 80 positive cases in its population of 21 million.
