‘Israel Raid: Gun Battles on the Streets in Jenin’

Israel launched a massive military operation into the Palestinian city of Jenin on Monday. Israel says it was targeting militants in a refugee camp inside the city. There have been intense gun battles in the street between Palestinian militants and Israeli forces. At least ten Palestinians have been killed so far.

Israel claims Jenin had become a terrorist haven. While the Palestinian Prime Minister praised those resisting Israeli forces in the city. That sentiment was echoed by Palestinian protestors in the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday the UN warned of that the escalating violence in the region was ‘very dangerous’.
