Italian Minister of Health Roberto Speranza gave a final press conference following the G20 Health Ministers’ Meeting in Rome on Monday, September 6.

“There is a political commitment to distribute vaccines to the whole world,” Speranza said, adding that the 20 richest countries in the world agreed on the ‘pact of Rome’ to make healthcare a human right and to distribute COVID vaccines to the whole world.

The meeting took place under the Italian Presidency of the G20 for two days (September 5-6) and aimed at taking the lead in ensuring a swift international response to the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide while building up resilience to future health-related shocks.
