Volcanic activity at Mount Etna continued on Friday following an eruption the day earlier, as fumes and a landslide were spotted on the south eastern side of Sicily’s largest volcano.

According to Italy’s National Institute for Geophysics and Volcanology the smoke released reached a height of 8km.

Etna, with a height of 3.300 metres, (10.826 feet) is Europe’s tallest active volcano and erupts several times a year.
