Italy: Red-hot lava sets sky ablaze in newest Etna eruption

The sky was painted red with glowing lava during Mount Etna’s most recent eruption, captured in Catania, Sicily, on Thursday evening.
According to the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the eruption occurred at the volcano’s southeast crater.
Tremors from the blast were recorded at 3,000 metres (9,840 feet) above sea level.
The plume of ashes created by the eruption are predicted to travel in a southwesterly direction. Vincenzo Bellini Airport will remain fully operational.
