Hundreds of protesters flooded a square in Milan, in support of Milan’s LGBTQ+ community on Thursday night, after an anti-homophobia law was rejected by the senate.

Several hundred supporters could be seen in the square, creating a sea of lights in the darkness with the help of flashlights.

Italian senators voted down the ‘Zan bill,’ which aimed at making misogyny, as well as violence against LGBTQ+ people, and disabled people, a hate crime.
