Ski season kicked-off in Italy on Saturday, after nearly two years of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Reinswald, near Bozen, in the Italian Alps, is one of the 450 ski resorts in the Trentino-Alto Adige region that started to reopen gradually.
Ski resorts in the region are still subjected to sanitary restrictions, however.
“We are checking at the entrance if people respect the 3G rules, this means tested, recovered or vaccinated. We are checking this through the apps on the mobile phones. After this they can ski,” said Reinswald ski resort manager Albert Hockofler.
Riccardo, who came from Bozen with his girlfriend, said, “when you reach the ski resort you have to show your green pass, this confirming that you are vaccinated or tested, they give you a bracelet and then you can ski freely.”
Italian skiers were seen enjoying the slopes for the first time since the first lockdown in March of 2020.
