Italy: Thousands protest COVID green pass in Milan

Around 4,000 people gathered in central Milan on Saturday to protest the COVID pass system put in place by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Protesters deviated from the previously authorised itinerary halfway, flooding Beatrice d’Este street and complicating the traffic. Police reportedly detained at least ten protesters.

The COVID Green Pass certificate is mandatory for all workers in Italy and necessary to enter restaurants, bars, gyms, swimming pools or museums.
