Japan: Fans bid farewell as athletes, staff leave Tokyo Olympic village

Buses and vehicles were seen driving staff members and the last athletes out of the village as fans held ‘thank you’ signs. One local camping out since the early hours of the morning said he wanted to show his “gratitude” for the athletes.
Tokyo 2020 ended with a closing ceremony at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium on Sunday. The next summer Olympics will take place in Paris in 2024.
