Japan: First Tokyo Olympic village resident tests positive for COVID-19

Officials said the foreign national who was not an athlete was placed under a 14-day quarantine.
The report comes less than a week before the start of the games which were postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this week, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach said there was ‘zero’ risk of athletes passing on the virus to other residents in the Olympic village.
