‘Karen Guerillas Capture ANOTHER Army Base From Myanmar Military Junta’

Ethnic Karen guerillas in Myanmar have captured another government outpost near the border with Thailand. The Karen National Liberation Army posted footage after the garrison apparently fled.

The position is 15 kilometres from a larger army base destroyed by the Karen ten days ago.

The military responded by launching airstrikes on the guerillas’ home territory.

The Karen are an ethnic group who have allied themselves with protesters after a military coup overthrew the elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi in February.

As well as giving refuge to young opposition activists from the cities, the Karen are training them in guerilla warfare.
