A Russian-made Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket launched Progress M-UM cargo spacecraft and the new Prichal module to the International Space Station from Baikonur Cosmodrome on Wednesday.

The Progress will deliver the new module to the space station on Friday, in addition to around 700 kilograms of cargo including food, hygienic supplies, and maintenance and repair tools.

According to Russia’s space agency Roscosmos, the Prichal will add five docking slots to the space station and also expand the technical and operational capabilities of the Russian segment of the ISS.
