German Chancellor Angela Merkel visits the areas which have been badly affected by floods in western Germany on Sunday, July 18.

Over the last few days heavy rains and floods killed, as of Saturday, at least 156 people and left hundreds missing in the states of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia.
