EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell Fontelles and Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas are giving a joint press conference in Strasbourg, on Tuesday November 23 ahead of the European Parliament session on the EU’s response to the situation at the EU’s external border with Belarus.
Tensions between the EU and Belarus have been escalating in recent months, with the EU accusing Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko of deliberately sending migrants over the border in response to sanctions imposed by the EU. Belarus has rejected the claims.
