Ruptly is live from La Palma in the Canary Islands on Thursday, September 23, as the volcano in the La Cumbre Vieja area continues to erupt.
Following a week of seismic activity, the volcano erupted on Sunday leading authorities to start evacuating nearby villages. Soldiers have been deployed on the island to help with the evacuation.
Thousands have had to abandon their homes, with over 150 houses destroyed by the encroaching lava, while scientists have warned that the eruption could continue for weeks or even months.
