Live: Moscow goes back to work after COVID lockdown

Ruptly is live outside Moscow’s White Square Office Centre on Monday, November 8, as the Russian capital gets back to business after a COVID-imposed non-working period.

Earlier Moscow authorities had announced the closure of most enterprises and non-essential services between October 28 and November 7. Shops, schools, beauty salons, and gyms were closed, while restaurants were only able to operate for takeaways.

According to Moscow’s mayor Sergei Sobyanin, while the businesses reopen on Monday, other measures, such as the requirement that companies have at least 30 percent of their staff work from home, would remain in place.
