Ruptly is live outside Pechersky District Court in Kiev as Former President Petro Poroshenko is expected to arrive there following his return to the country on Monday, January 17.

The former Ukrainian President has been accused of high treason for allegedly helping to organise coal supplies from Donbass in 2014 and 2015 and supporting Russia’s interests in the conflict.

On January 6, the court granted the prosecutor’s office request and froze Poroshenko’s property and assets.

If convicted of treason charges, Poroshenko will face up to 15 years.
