A protest against the planned eviction of the squatted trailer camp at the iconic ‘Kopi’ takes place in Berlin on Saturday, October 9.

Protesters are taking to the streets six days before the eviction date (October 15) and on the day of the first anniversary of another house project eviction, the so-called Liebig34 anarchist-queer-feminist collective.

Located at 137 Kopenicker street in the city centre, Kopi is one of the last remaining symbol projects of the radical left scene of Berlin.

The building on the strip of the Wall in East Berlin was occupied in 1990 and legalised a year later as an autonomous housing project.

In June, the Berlin district court ordered the evacuation of the trailer camp. The building itself is not affected by the eviction.
