UN Special Representative for Sudan Volker Perthes is expected to brief the UN Security Council on the latest developments in Sudan on Wednesday, January 12.

Perthes is expected to provide an update on the situation in the country following the recent resignation of Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.

The briefing will take place following closed consultations.
