White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki holds a press briefing in Washington DC on Monday, March 7. The briefing is taking place amid Russia’s ongoing offensive against Ukraine.

Russia launched its military offensive in Eastern Ukraine in the early hours of Thursday, February 24. Following Russia’s actions, Europe, the US, and the UK strongly condemned and announced sanctions against Russia, targeting several Russian banks, individuals, and bilateral trade.

On Wednesday, March 2, 141 countries voted to condemn Russia at the United Nations while only five countries including Russia itself voted against the resolution.
