The opening ceremony for the World Health Summit 2021 takes place in Berlin on Sunday, October 24.

WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are set to deliver remarks during the ceremony, along with German and French Health Ministers Jens Spahn and Olivier Veran, among other speakers.

The central issues of this year’s World Health Summit are vaccine equity, the pursuit of the ‘Health for All’ economic agenda and the role of the European Union in it, and lessons from COVID-19 for pandemic preparedness among others.​ Mandatory credit: World Health Summit
