A ‘Squid Game’ themed desserts cafe in Penang has gone viral after allowing guests to play three games featured in the hit show, as seen in footage filmed at the bar on Sunday.

Patrons at Tian Yuan cafe could be seen trying their hand at ‘ddakji’, a Korean paper-flipping game, as well as marbles and honeycomb-cutting, both currently high in notoriety after the appearance of the games in the successful ‘Squid Games’ Netflix series.

The cafe owners have also chosen to promote a ‘Honeycomb challenge,’ which offers a meal discount if guests can remove a shape imprinted into a honeycomb disk without it cracking, as seen on the Netflix show.

“By incorporating these games, it allows the customer to have an experience of the game that they’re watching from the series,” said customer Jet Leang.

On Wednesday, Netflix revealed that Squid Game had garnered 111 million views since its release, making it the platform’s most successful series ever.
