Thousands of women protested against femicides on Thursday in the streets of Mexico City as part of the International Day Against Gender Violence.

The activists marched through the streets of the Mexican capital with signs and banners while chanting slogans.

The images show some of the protesters with their faces covered with balaclavas, destroying city installations such as bus stops and traffic signs.

Similar protests took place in several cities across the country to demand an end to violence against women. According to local media, 3,957 women were murdered in Mexico last year.
