Police clashed with protesters in Amsterdam, on Sunday, as hundreds marched against rising house prices in the country.
The protest was organised by the non-partisan action group ‘The Woonprotest’, who on their Facebook page for the event demanded authorities “guarantee sufficient and affordable housing, regain the grip on escalating rent and housing prices, stop racist and classist housing and demolition policies, tackle parasitic investors.”
This year the nation has seen record increases with the average home price in the second quarter jumping by almost 20 percent compared to 2020.
