The Chaman border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan was temporarily closed on Thursday as Pakistan feared security threats were rising, according to Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
Footage filmed on Saturday shows a large crowd gathering
at the Afghan side of the border waiting to pass into Pakistan.
Thousands of Afghans have been fleeing to the neighbouring country of Pakistan through the border city of Chaman after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
Many of the border crossing points from Afghanistan to Pakistan are currently cordoned off. The few allowing entry with valid travel documents were equipped with additional security.
The border point in Chaman is a key crossing for commercial trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It remains unclear when it will be operating again.
