Clashes erupted between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces in East Jerusalem on Tuesday during the demolition of the house of Palestinian assailant Fadi Abu Shukhedem in the neighbourhood of Shuafat Camp.

Dozens of armed soldiers stormed the apartment, located on the third floor, and used tear gas to disperse some protesters who were throwing rocks towards them from the nearby street.

Fadi Abu Shkhaydam was shot dead in November 2021 after killing an Israeli officer and injuring three others.

On Monday, Israel’s Supreme Court rejected the family of Abu Shkhaydam’s appeal against the move.
