The 3.5 metre-tall puppet of a young refugee girl ‘Little Amal’ at the centre of the travelling art performance ‘The Walk’ reached London on Saturday as the project aiming to express support for refugees on an ambitious 5,000-mile (8,000-kilometre) journey nears its end in the United Kingdom.
Amal was welcomed by crowds at St Paul’s Cathedral before making her way to Globe Theatre, made famous by Shakespeare’s theatre company.
The journey which has taken Little Amal from the Syria-Turkey border to the United Kingdom is set to conclude in Manchester on November 3.
Created by the Handspring Puppet Company, the puppet represents all displaced children.
