Romania: First US military convoy enters Romania amid Russia-Ukraine tensions

A 16-truck convoy of US armored personnel carriers and other military equipment entered western Romania, as seen in Nadlac, on Thursday night, heading towards the Black Sea coast as tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to run high.

The rest of the military convoy is expected to arrive on Wednesday with a total of 48 cargo trucks heading 900 km down the Black Sea coast to Mihail Kogalniceanu, the US army base.

In January, US President Joe Biden announced he would send additional troops to Eastern Europe amid ongoing talks to de-escalate tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
