Russia: Merkel's phone rings during meeting with Putin

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s phone started to ring during her protocol conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Friday.

The phone rang while Putin was talking about the relations between the two countries.

The Russian President smiled and continued saying “We are in constant telephone contact. We have many issues that need to be discussed ‘face to face.”

Merkel’s trip to the Russian capital will be her last as German chancellor since 2005, as the politician prepares to step down in September after the federal election.
