Russian Olympic shooting silver medalists of the 2020 Olympic Games Artem Chernousov and Anastasia Galashina returned to Moscow from Tokyo on Thursday.

Fans and friends noisily greeting the Russian champions, congratulating them and giving them flowers, could be seen at the Sheremetyevo airport.

The 10-metre air rifle silver medalist Anastasia Galashina has been put on rest for six months. The athlete says that it’s “the coaching staff’s decision.”

Artem Chernousov, who took part in Olympics for the first time, thanked the Russian fans for their support.

“By the way, I felt your support, so don’t tell about the lack of support. There was enough noise from such fans there as athletes themselves, there were no special problems here. Of course, it could have been noisier and more fun, but what to do – it’s such times,” the athlete said.

Artem Chernousov and Vitalina Batsarashkina won silver for the 10-metre air pistol mixed team at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Anastasia Galashina: “Yes, yes, this is the coaching staff’s decision.”

Journalist: “What can you say about the provided conditions? Have you maybe heard that the Moscow region’s government said that you can train in more comfortable conditions after you’d spoke about the shooting range.”

Anastasia Galashina: “I didn’t speak out, I just said that the shooting range is old. In fact, it did not interfere with my preparation in any way. Technology is moving forward now, everything is moving forward. I would just like it to be better for the next generation. It seems that it is planned to buy electronic equipment.”
