Japan: IOC chief Bach invites athletes to sign Olympic Truce Mural

The Olympic Truce Mural was unveiled in the Olympic Village in Tokyo on Monday whereby International Olympic Committee Chief Thomas Bach (IOC) urged athletes to sign the mural to show their support for the Olympic Truce.

“The Olympic Truce Mural is where all of us can show our support for the Olympic Truce, and the principles it represents. Our messages will express our Olympic values of solidarity and peace because without solidarity there is no peace. It is in this Olympic spirit that I invite you to leave your signature on the Olympic Truce Mural to show your very personal commitment to make a better and more peaceful world through sport,” said Bach after signing the mural alongside other officials.

The Olympic Games are set to kick off on July 23 after it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
