Troops of the Southern Military District crossed the Crimean Bridge on their return to permanent bases after the completion of planned exercises in Crimea, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defence announced on Wednesday.

According to the MoD, the transferred units included tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled artillery mounts. The date of filming was not disclosed.

Upon arrival at the permanent bases, the military equipment will be prepared for the next stage of military exercises.

The MoD added that almost all military districts, as well as fleets and airborne troops, are taking part in large-scale operational training events. Combat training activities are carried out in accordance with the plan of joint exercises with Belarus - ‘Allied Resolve-2022’ -and will last until February 20.

The Russian and Belarusian military are practicing the suppression of external aggression, and the combating of terrorism - in particular, blocking channels for the delivery of weapons and ammunition, as well as destroying illegal armed formations and sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

A live-firing stage will later be held at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground on February 19. During this event, Russian marines, together with formations and military units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus with the support of operational-tactical and army aviation will conduct a mock-defensive battle and perform additional manoeuvres.
