“Russian Wildfire Smoke Reaches North Pole”

More than 1,000 villages and several cities in Siberia are covered in smoke as wildfires continue to rage in Russia’s vast, forest-rich region.

Siberia’s wildfires are bigger than all the world’s other blazes combined.

Nasa has said the smoke has reached the North Pole for the first time in recorded history.

A meteorologist pointed to abnormally high temperatures as fuelling the widespread fires.

Many scientists regard temperature changes a result of climate change.
