Seattle Police Clear Out CHOP Zone Arresting Over 20 Protesters

Seattle police dressed in riot gear have cleared out the city’s CHOP zone at the request of the mayor.

The protest area has been a hotbed of discussion following two recent fatal shootings in less than two weeks.

Officers formed a human wall, using bicycles to herd the activists away from the centre of the zone.

Once heavy machinery has access to the area they began removing concrete barricades and debris from the settlement.

After weeks of pressure from Trump’s administration, The White House welcomed the dismantling of the camp calling the actions “essential”.

Protesters refute claims the protest zone was “lawless” and refuse to be blamed for the violence in the area.
