Emergency workers and residents of Huelva province were seen clearing up the aftermath of heavy flooding on Thursday after torrential rains had hit the area.
Vehicles were also spotted affected by the flood and mud, piled up on sides of roads.
The State Meteorological Agency of Spain (AEMET) activated the orange warning for rains in Huelva and Seville.

TRANSLATIONS:

SOT, Resident (Spanish): “The truth is that it was a disaster. We knew that a lot of water was expected to fall, but not what happened. I have been living in this area for 20 years now and an estimate of about 120 meters, sorry, I meant, 90 liters per square meter per hour and it has been too much and it has surprised us all.”

SOT, Resident (Spanish): “We have a problem at a family level, because what we have is a problem at home. We have flood problems, we have more than one and a half meters of water. We are shrinking it now. That noise that you hear, we are reducing it right now, therefore, all the dirt, the things we have to throw away. The people who have their cars inside, yes, that can be more complicated. And, as a town problem, surely we have the fields, we live a lot of cultivating fields; we have strawberries, orange trees, red fruits, surely it will be an issue for the crops, with the flooding, (inaudible) trees.”
