Thousands of protesters gathered on Puerta del Sol square in front of the seat of the regional government of Madrid on Wednesday, against the repeal of existing legislation on equality and recognition of the LGBTQ community proposed by the ultra-right party VOX.
The draft goes to vote in the regional Assembly on Thursday, and it will be likely rejected as the Popular Party (PP) has announced to abstain during the voting, and the Socialists (PSOE) have already censured the proposal.
