State of Palestine: Thousands mourn 75-year-old activist killed by Israeli tow truck

Thousands of Palestinians in southern Hebron participated in the funeral of the revered 75-year-old Sheikh Suleiman Al-Hathalin on Tuesday, who died of his injuries after an Israeli tow truck ran him over on January 5.
The procession of mourners marched from Al-Ahly Hospital in the city of Hebron towards the birthplace of Al-Hathalin in Umm Al-Khair village, where participants performed a funeral prayer before burying him in the village cemetery.
“We are proud of the funeral of the martyr Hajj Suleiman Al-Hathalin, who spent all his time, life, and gave everything he had in order to defend this pure land and this holy soil. We can only say that Sheikh Suleiman is the master of the Bedouin martyrs in Hebron,” said Abdullah Abu Taima, one mourner.
Al-Hathalin suffered severe injuries after being run over by the Israeli police in Umm al-Khair during an Israeli police campaign to collect unregistered cars.

We can only say that Sheikh Suleiman is the master of the Bedouin martyrs in Hebron.”

SOT, Ratib al-Jabour, Coordinator of popular committees to resist the wall and settlements east of Yatta and south of Hebron (Arabic): “We honour today this heroic martyr, we honour him with pride because he was truly one of the resistance fighters, one of those on the ground, and was always in the field. We do not want false slogans here and there. This resistance hero is always with us in the field, where the Israeli occupation army and the settlers’ gangs were, he was with us.”

SOT, Ibrahim Al-Hathalin, Brother of late elderly Suleiman Al-Hathalin (Arabic): “We bid farewell to Sheikh Suleiman Al-Hathalin, and he has now set out from his home to the cemetery in a solemn procession. This message that we say to you is one of the greatest messages to our loyal people who belong to the Hajj Suleiman, where they flocked from all places, and we thank them for this honourable stand in these blessed moments.”
