Switzerland: Deputy FMs Sherman and Ryabkov meet for Russia-US talks

The Russian and US delegates met at the Geneva US mission on Monday to formally start talks regarding tensions on the Russian-Ukrainian border and the Kremlin’s demands to halt NATO expansion.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Deputy Defence Minister Alexander Fomin spoke with Deputy Secretary Wendy Sherman, accompanied by Director of Operations of the Joint Staff, Lieutenant General James Mingus.
The US State Department issued a statement stating that Washington would welcome genuine progress through diplomacy.
The formal talks will take place on Monday and focus on Russia-US bilateral issues, particularly regarding Ukraine.
