The UN panel on climate change (IPCC) said that their latest report shows that on the planet’s current trajectory, over 1.5 degrees C (2.7 degrees F) climate warning is likely in the next ten years, during a virtual panel held from Geneva, on Monday.

The temperature increase marks a threshold beyond which more severe and frequent cyclones, droughts, floods, and fires are likely to occur.

The IPCC called for global leaders to respond to the ‘devastating’ data with action. If countries drastically and immediately cut emissions and start massive reforestation now, humanity might stand a chance to get the planet under the extra 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees F).
