Syria: Olympic weightlifter Asaad brings home first medal since 2004

“The competition was strong between international athletes,” Asaad commented, thanking his coach Qais Asaad for his guidance.
Asaad won the bronze medal in the men’s +109 kg weightlifting, the first Olympic medal since Syria received a boxing bronze in 2004.
