Thailand: Anti-govt protesters met with police water cannon over alleged Bangkok shooting

Members of the anti-government group Talu Fah protested outside of the Royal Thai Police National Headquarters in Bangkok on Tuesday, following reports that police had used live bullets during a protest on Monday night. Several were injured.

Demonstrators were soaked by water cannons outside the police HQ, before riot police emerged with shields to push the group back, with at least one being arrested as a result.

Mass protests have been ongoing in Thailand since July of 2020 over the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, amid a surge in cases within the country.
