Police used water cannons on protesters who gathered on a motorway in Bangkok, on Sunday, demanding the resignation of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

A handful of protesters were seen running away from water cannons as the protest started.

Last year, tens of thousands took to the streets in opposition to Prayut, who rose to power in a 2014 coup. Though the movement lost momentum during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, protesters have returned to the streets in recent days, with several of them being injured in clashes with police.
