‘Totally Appropriate’: Trump Takes No Responsibility for Capitol Riot

Donald Trump has emerged for the first time since an angry mob of his supporters stormed the US Capitol building last week.

The outgoing president, who faces impeachment, denied any responsibility for the siege, and told reporters that what he said at the Washington DC rally before the riot was “totally appropriate”.

When addressing crowds of his supporters, Trump made baseless claims of electoral fraud and told them to march on the Capitol to protest the certification of the result.

Five people were killed during the unrest after protesters laid siege to the building.
