Tunisia: Hundreds demand investigation of Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi's murder in Tunis

Supporters of politicians Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi, who were assassinated in 2013, gathered in Tunis on Saturday to demand an investigation of the murders.

Several hundred supporters carrying Tunisian flags and portraits of the murdered Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi marched through the streets shouting slogans directed at the leader of the Ennahda movement, Rached Ghannouchi. Police officers guarded the protest.

On 26 July 2013, the leader of the People’s Movement and opponent of the Ennahda movement Mohamed Brahmi was shot in front of his house. A few months earlier, Chokri Belaid, who also opposed the Ennahda movement and its government, was also killed.
