The first shipment of Turkey’s locally-made COVID vaccine, ‘Turkovac’ reached a depot in Ankara following its emergency approval, as seen on Friday.

The vaccine, developed by the Erciyes University, will now be available for the Turkish population and offered to other countries.

Turkovac was approved on December 22 by the Turkish Medicine and Medical Devices Agency (TITCK) with an emergency request. According to Turkish Health authorities, nearly 82 percent of the population over 18 years has been vaccinated with two doses.
