UK Approves Second Covid-19 Vaccine As Hospitals Near Breaking Point

The Oxford-Astra Zeneca Vaccine has been approved for manufacture and distribution in the UK.

It’s the second vaccine to gain regulatory approval after the Pfizer vaccine passed safety tests earlier this month.

But hospitals are approaching breaking point as cases of Covid-19 reach levels higher than the peak in April.

Essex has declared a state of emergency and London ambulances are struggling to keep up with demand.

Cases are rising due to a new more infectious strain of the virus which is now spreading outside the UK.

As a result, regions across the UK are expecting tougher lockdown restrictions to be announced.
